Defence Springs

Recoil, firing pin, hammer, magazine, trigger, latch and claw springs — 0.20–9.00 mm wire diameter, CNC-produced to technical drawing.

Maktel manufactures precision springs and wire forms for the defence industry and related mechanical systems in wire diameters from 0.20 to 9.00 mm. Prototype, low-volume custom and high-volume series production are all run to customer technical drawings and project specifications, with material performance, force repeatability, fatigue strength, process stability and traceability as core principles.

Defence industry spring types

The product range covers recoil, firing pin, hammer, magazine, trigger, latch and claw springs, plus special-purpose compression, torsion and wire-form parts. Recoil springs are evaluated for repeated cycling and high cycle endurance; firing pin springs for dimensional stability; hammer springs for mechanical strength and controlled force transfer. Magazine springs are produced in different geometries to customer technical requirements, trigger and claw springs for precise, repeatable motion, and latch springs for retention, locking and return requirements.

Material options and engineering support

We use EN 10270-1 DH class patented spring wire, EN 10270-2 Cr-Si alloyed wire, oil-tempered high-tensile wire, stainless spring wire, multi-strand/rope-type special wire and high fatigue-strength alloyed spring steels — EN 10270-1 DH and EN 10270-2 Cr-Si for magazine springs, EN 10270-1 DH for trigger springs. Material, geometric manufacturability, tolerance, force, working cycle, temperature, surface and series-production suitability are evaluated together from technical drawings, samples and specifications.

Heat treatment, surface finishing and traceability

Stress relieving, controlled heat treatment and shot peening are applied per product requirement and customer specification; Cr+3 zinc plating, black oxide, phosphating, nickel, cataphoretic coating, passivation and solid-film lubricant systems are evaluated. After CNC-controlled production, dimensional, force, form, geometric, visual and material checks are carried out; raw-material testing, spring force measurement, dimensional measurement and corrosion test equipment support quality control. Approved products are packed and prepared for shipment in line with identification and traceability requirements.
